Hello and welcome!

Brian began his musical studies at age five — first with piano, and then many other instruments, while always keeping piano as his primary one. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in classical piano performance, music theory, and composition from Northwestern University, now the Bienen School of Music, and has also studied jazz and commercial music at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

His musical interests have been wide-ranging, and he has worked as a professional musician, composer, arranger, sound designer, and recording engineer across many genres. He currently performs in jazz ensembles, as a solo pianist for events, and as a collaborative pianist with choirs, musical theater productions, and orchestras in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Sujatha is a flutist whose musical exploration began with the piano at the age of seven. At nine she started playing the flute. Her mentors include the flutists Alberto Almarza and Paula Robison, with whom she studied at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she received a Bachelor of Music in classical flute performance.

A child of Indian immigrants, Sujatha was immersed in the sounds of Indian music from a young age, which has greatly influenced the way she hears and relates to music. She now blends a variety of sounds and forms in her own style. In 2024 she released her second album of original compositions and improvisations, The Great Intimacy, produced by Christopher Krotky. She performs Western classical music in solo and chamber recitals, as well as Indian fusion crossover music, in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Sujatha teaches flute and beginner piano to adults and children ages 7 and up. Her approach blends structured tutorials with creative exploration, guiding students to follow the joyful flow of artistic movement and develop their innate musicality.
